578,000 euros in funding from the Ministry of Transport

As part of a consortium led by the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg, we are receiving 578,000 euros from the modernity fund of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure for the UDVeo project. The funding certificate was given on Friday, February 14th, by Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer in Berlin. The project aims to research and implement concepts and technology for integrating drones into urban space.

In the joint project “Organizing Urban Drone Traffic Efficiently”, an overall technical and legal concept is to be created that is intended to simplify and optimize the complex approval and control process by authorities using a software. Processes from applying for a flight to monitoring unmanned movements in urban airspace will be covered. The solution will initially be implemented and tested in Hamburg. “We are proud to be part of the project with our drones and technologies,” said Marius Schröder, CEO of Third Element Aviation. “The project is making an important contribution to ensuring that drones can develop their potential safer and faster.”

In addition to our company, the project includes the Helmut Schmidt University, the Authority for Economy, Transport and Innovation of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the German Aerospace Center, HHLA Sky GmbH, NXP Semiconductors Germany GmbH, which consider it GmbH and WPS Workplace Solutions GmbH, all from Hamburg. The project has a total volume of 4.6 million euros and a duration of three years.
